A sophisticated English cocktail, thought to have been created at The Guards Club, London. It first appeared in Stanley M. Jones' 1977 Jones' Complete Barguide.

 52.50 ml (1¾ oz) London Dry Gin
 22.50 ml (¾ oz) sweet vermouth
 7.50 ml (¼ oz) Orange Curacao
 Maraschino cherry for garnish

Half-fill a mixing jug with ice.

Add all ingredients and stir until well-chilled.

Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry.
