The creator of this cocktail, Sam Ross, has described it as “a love child between a Negroni and a Manhattan.” Essentially a Boulevardier using bourbon instead of Irish whiskey and with different proportions and the addition of chocolate bitters.

Left Hand

 45 ml (1½ oz) bourbon
 22.50 ml (¾ oz) Campari
 22.50 ml (¾ oz) sweet vermouth
 3 dashes chocolate bitters
 Maraschino cherry for garnish

Half-fill a mixing jug with ice.

Add all ingredients and stir until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe.

Garnish with a skewered maraschino cherry.
