A whiskey sour variant created in 1880s Chicago, USA, and popularised in New York City whereby it earned it's modern name. A dry red wine float adds a complexity and fruit acidity as well as a stunning visual appearance.
Half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add all ingredients and shake until well-chilled.
Strain into a tumbler over fresh ice.
Carefully pour the red wine over the back of a bar spoon so the wine floats.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
