A wonderfully balanced herbal cocktail, credited to Mr P. Soso, the popular manager of the Kit-Kat Club, London, by Harry MacElhone's's 1923 Harry of Ciro's ABC Of Mixing Cocktails.

So-So Cocktail

 30 ml (1 oz) London Dry Gin
 30 ml (1 oz) calvados
 15 ml (½ oz) white vermouth
 5 ml (⅙ oz) grenadine

Half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add all ingredients and shake until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled martini glass.
