Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee is coming up on the 3rd June which is Friday next week. Instead of the usual three cocktails for Friday Night Cocktails, we’ll be doing some cocktails throughout the day (it’s a Bank Holiday here in the UK) for the Platinum Jubilee.
Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee, for 75 years as Queen, which makes her the longest-reigning incumbent monarch, and the longest-reigning female monarch in recorded history; she is currently the third longest serving monarch (of a sovereign state) behind Louis XIV of France (1643 to 1715) and Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) of Thailand (1946 to 2016).
If you want to join in with the #PlatinumJubilee (or #FridayNightCocktails) these are the key ingredients you’ll need (alongside ice, simple syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice):
- Dry Gin
- Dubonnet Red
- Grenadine Syrup
- Maraschino Liqueur
- Green Chartreuse
- White Rum
- Creme de Violette Violet Liqueur
- English Sparkling Wine
- Triple Sec
We know celebrating the Platinum Jubilee is not to everyone’s taste, but just think of it as #FridayNightCocktails with extra cocktails leading up to the usual three in the evening.
