Our first cocktail is a Maple bourbon Hot Chocolate; I hunted through a lot of recipes on line looking for a good hit chocolate and ended up combining elements of a few to produce this one which uses both bourbon and maple syrup as the sweetener.

A maple bourbon to warm you up on a cold night.
Add milk, double cream and maple syrup to a pan on medium heat and bring to the boil while stirring frequently.
Add cocoa powder, chocolate chips and keep on the heat until the chips melt and the hot chocolate is think and creamy.
Add the vanilla extract and bourbon and stir well.
Pour into a mug and garnish with whipped cream and/or marshmallows.
